My clients have all been asking me about the new range of woolies low fat soups. It is not just the packaging that has changed – most of the ingredients are slightly different as well! So today I did a mini analysis on which are the ‘healthiest’ of the range. Please keep in mind that NONE of these soups are extremely healthy as they all have additives and other non-whole food ingredients! But we all need a quick meal now and again so here is some help in making the best choice!
I have listed them in 1st , 2nd and 3rd place for each category:
Lowest in fat:
1. Fresh Chunky Vegetable
2. Winter Vegetable & Noodle
3. Green split pea & Vegetable
Lowest in Carbs:
1. Fresh Chunky Vegetable
2.Winter Vegetable & Noodle
3.Butternut
Now lets look at the bad bunch! Often the tastiest - so try and hold yourself back:)
Highest in Bad Fat (saturated fat) and Total fat:
1. Butternut
2. Fresh Chicken Noodle & Corn
3. Spanish Chorizo
Highest in Carbs:
1. Fragrant Lentil & Chickpea
2. Spanish Chorizo
3. Green split pea & Vegetable
So if you are trying to keep thin this winter the best option is The Fresh Chunky Vegetable and the worst option is probably the Spanish Chorizo!
